I had the most wonderful time mixing my favourite palette of earth colours. Got some fantastic results (some of which were heavily textured) with the Scot's pine and round cones. The larch cones made a more delicate impression. I will take macro photographs of some of the individual stamps which should showcase the gorgeous colours and textures which I can then take forward to pattern design.

A3 Gelli plate enables me to do monoprinting at home. Big bonus - not as messy as at college where we use proper oil based printing inks. Used leaves, mushrooms and pine cones with fabric. Used a variety of paints - acrylic, fabric, printing. Method 1. Roll paint on to Gelli plate, place objects on top, fabric or paper over the plate then rub gently. Method 2. Roll paint on to Gelli plate, use object as a stamp, fabric over the plate and rub gently Varying success. My three best outcomes are below.. Evaluation My purpose was to produce a number of samples using different natural objects and a range of paints then assessing the results. Mushrooms were particularly successful because they were soft and easy to use as stamps. Fabric and acrylic paints produced the best mono print. |
